OberBuilt Inventory — Pricing and billing summary
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This page is a plain-language summary. It is not the Pricing Disclosure that forms part of your agreement. The Pricing Disclosure that forms part of the agreement is the one shown in the Service on the page where you add a payment method (Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement, §2.7). Its figures are read from our payment provider. Any tax that applies is added on your invoice, and a discount you have reduces the amount while it applies. This page states no amount, and nothing here overrides what the Service shows you immediately before you are asked for payment details.
For the binding terms, read the Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement at https://obinv.oberbuilt.ca/legal/terms.
What a subscription covers
Each subscription covers one connected QuickBooks Online company. It does not include additional companies or separate multi-user seats.
Currency
Your billing currency is set automatically from your region: Canadian dollars for customers in Canada, United States dollars for customers in the United States. You are shown the amount in your own currency before you are asked for payment details.
Free trial
New customers start with a 14-day free trial, and no credit card is required to start it. Each QuickBooks Online company gets one free trial. A company that comes back within 3 years of its data being deleted does not get another. During the trial you have full access for one connected QuickBooks Online company. We do not charge you during the trial, and we do not convert a trial into a paid subscription without a payment method on file.
To keep using the app's features after the trial, add a payment method before it ends; your subscription then starts automatically on the trial end date. If you have not added one by then, your trial simply ends: nothing is charged for the trial, then or later, and access to the app's features stops. You can still export your data as CSV during the retention period described in the Privacy Policy, and you can start a paid subscription at any time.
Billing frequency and automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically, and keep renewing until you cancel, or until your subscription is set to end because QuickBooks Online was disconnected (see Disconnecting below). Each renewal is charged to the payment method on file at the then-current price, plus any tax that applies. Once a year, 25 to 40 days before the renewal that takes your subscription past another twelve continuous months (counting any free trial), we email you a reminder that it renews automatically until you cancel, and how to cancel (or show it in the app if we have no email address for you), unless your subscription is already set to end.
If a payment fails
If a payment fails, we email you and our payment provider retries it. If it is still unpaid 14 days after it first failed, access to the app's features stops until it is paid; CSV export keeps working. If the last retry fails, your subscription ends, and access stops then if it has not already. It can also end without waiting for that retry while a payment waits for your bank's confirmation, or once 14 days have passed with no retry left (Terms 12.5). You then owe only for the time you had access: we reduce the unpaid invoice to that, using the invoice's own amounts, never a newer price. Paying it does not restore access, and until your data is deleted it must be paid before you can start a new subscription. The full terms are in §12.5 and §12.6 of the Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement.
Tax
Any sales tax that applies to your billing address — GST/HST, and Manitoba RST or Saskatchewan PST where it applies — is calculated by our payment provider and added to every invoice, except on a subscription created while it could not be calculated, until tax is turned on for it (Terms 12.3). When you start a subscription on our payment provider's checkout page, it is also shown there as part of the full total before you confirm.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, yourself, in the billing portal — no email and no phone call. Cancelling in the billing portal is a single step. Your subscription then continues to the close of the billing period you have already paid for, or of your free trial if you are still on it, ends there, and you are not charged again. The one exception is a payment already overdue when you cancel: our payment provider can still collect it until your subscription ends, which is at the close of the current billing period, or sooner, for non-payment (see If a payment fails above).
If your QuickBooks Online company is disconnected, you do not need to reconnect to cancel: ask for a sign-in code on the sign-in page, at https://obinv.oberbuilt.ca/signin, type it into that page, and open the billing portal from there.
Disconnecting
When you disconnect QuickBooks Online inside the app while you are paying, or on a free trial with a payment method on file, you choose what happens to your subscription, and nothing is chosen for you. Stop my subscription sets it to end at the close of the period you have already paid for, or at the end of your trial. Keep my subscription continues it: you go on being charged, even though the app cannot sync or run builds while QuickBooks Online is disconnected, and we email you a reminder before each charge — unless messages to your address are coming back undeliverable, or we cannot confirm the amount in time; the charge goes ahead either way (§13.2 of the Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement). On a free trial with no payment method on file, the trial simply ends on its end date. If QuickBooks Online is disconnected from Intuit's side, your subscription is set to end and we email you to say so. If a payment is overdue when you disconnect, or when QuickBooks Online is disconnected from Intuit's side, your subscription ends at once and you are not charged again; you then owe only for the time you had access, as when a subscription ends for non-payment (Terms 12.6). The full terms are in §5.5 of the Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement.
